Data Protection Provisions - ConComp

Dear ConComp User,

Data protection and privacy are very important to us and we take these matters very seriously. We rely on cooperation and mutual trust with you and endeavor to ensure your full satisfaction in all regards -- and of course also in dealing with your personal data. With these Data Protection Provisions we would like to inform you how your personal data are handled. The Data Protection Provisions are a further part of the ConComp® Terms of Use.

1. General Information concerning Processing of Personal Data

We collect, process and make use of your personal data in conformity with the provisions of the data protection and privacy laws of the Federal Republic of Germany and the data protection provisions of the European Union. In no case will your personal data be given to any third party for advertising or marketing purposes without your consent.

In our company compliance with the statutory provisions in this area and with this statement is monitored by the Data Protection Officer. The entire ConComp team has been trained in the proper techniques for handling personal data and is required to comply with all data protection provisions.

2. Type and Extent of Data Use

We make use of your personal data exclusively for the purpose of enabling your use of the Internet services of ConComp which require individual registration. The personal data that you submit to ConComp are not visible to other ConComp members or to non-members.

3. Storage of Your Personal Data

3.1 Required information

To be able to make use of the ConComp functionality, it is necessary for you to enter some personal data which we process and store. You can manage or delete your data under 'My Account' at any time.

The following information must be provided at the time of registration:

  • Title
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Address
  • Home country
  • E-mail address
  • User name
  • Password

Please note: Your user name and password are not visible for other ConComp members. Our employees will never ask you to provide such data. Please keep this data secret and do not give it to any third party. The minimum requirement for your personal password is 8 characters including both upper and lower case characters. To ensure a higher level of password security, we recommend also using numbers and special characters.

4. Newsletter

ConComp sends out newsletters and status e-mails (together referred to as 'newsletter' in the following) to all ConComp members. In these newsletters, ConComp informs you regarding changes in the database as well as special findings in the area of compatibility. You can discontinue receiving the newsletter at any time via your ConComp profile.

5. Deletion of Your Personal Data

We store your data only as long as permitted under statutory provisions or as necessary for your use of the site. You can terminate your ConComp membership at any time via 'My Account' > My Data > Delete My ConComp Login and thereby delete all your personal data from the system. Following this deletion you will receive a confirmation e-mail at the address you have stored in the system. Following this all your personal data will be deleted insofar as this is possible in compliance with statutory retention periods.

6. Security Measures

We have undertaken comprehensive measures to protect the security of your data as a ConComp user. In all areas of ConComp in which you enter personal information, we make use of the industry standard SSL (Security Sockets Layer) encryption protocol. Our IT systems are protected against data loss and data misuse in accordance with state of the art techniques.  

7. Links

These Data Protection Provisions apply for all data collected and processed on ConComp. ConComp contains links to other Internet sites. We assume no responsibility for the policies of other site operators in dealing with your data. Upon leaving ConComp we therefore recommend that you inquire with the operators of other Internet sites regarding their data protection policies.

8. Cookies (etracker)

On this website, user data is collected and stored in an anonymized form using the technologies provided by etracker GmbH (www.etracker.de). Cookies may be used for these purposes; however, these cookies collect and store data only in a pseudononymous form. With these data, a pseudononymous user profile is created. The data are not used to personally identify the visitors to this website and are not brought together with other data pertaining to the bearer of any pseudonym. The right to such data collection and storage can be revoked at any time for subsequent website visits.

9. Log Files

We also use IP addresses to analyze trends, to administer the website, to undertake improvements for the use of the website and to collect a range of general demographic data. We would like to point out that in addition to the data that you provide, the IP address used when you visit our website will be stored and in some cases used to ensure fulfillment of requirements and for purposes of evidence. No additional use of IP address data will occur. Through the automatic removal of the last segment of the IP address we cannot draw conclusions about any specific ConComp user.
